The Internet Toolbox For Islam-Critics
Islam is a global challenge. It should be met with a global response. The best instrument for doing this is the Internet, the most international medium of all. As many news outlets may still be reluctant to openly criticize Islam, the Internet opens the possibility of a freer discourse on such subjects than more traditional media do. The intention behind this Toolbox is to encourage more people to use the Internet as a way of getting critical discussion of Islamic issues out to the general public. Any person who wants to is very welcome to copy this list or any parts of it that they may find interesting to their own websites. The Toolbox is a work in progress, and everybody is encouraged to add more "tools" of their own. For finding news about Islam, please look at the Internet Toolbox for Islam-critics - News about Islam.
[edit] Practical Tips For People Working To Expose Islam
The easiest thing you can do if you are concerned about Islam and what it is doing to the world is using the Internet. Email the links to some of the websites by ex-Muslims that are listed further down to friends, family, colleagues and everybody you know. You may include other Islam-critical websites such as http://www.jihadwatch.org/ . This is free, and takes very little of your time, while increasing the knowledge of Islam in the general public.
If you want to spend a little bit of money, try buying some books about Islam. Give them as gifts to friends and family. Write an invitation inside to some of the websites mentioned below. Order them from your local bookstore, which will make them aware of these titles and maybe order more of them. Write online reviews of good Islam-critical books on websites such as http://www.amazon.com/ .
Help and support the work of ex-Muslims and their organizations in any way you can. Giving money to websites by ex-Muslims should not be viewed as "charity". At a time when Muslims are working hard trying to limit freedom of speech about Islam even in Western and other non-Muslim countries, donations to these websites should be considered an investment in the freedom of your children.

[edit] The Koran
- Comment about the Koran: The Koran was "revealed" piecemeal and in stages to Muhammad, from the first parts in 610, to his death in 632, according to traditional accounts. After his flight, Hijra, from Mecca to Medina in 622, which marks the year zero in the Islamic calendar, Muhammad became a military and political leader over the first (and perfect) Islamic community, Umma. The revelations changed and became progressively more aggressive, violent and intolerant. The later Medinan verses are generally seen to cancel out (abrogate) the earlier ones from Mecca if there is disagreement between them. The chapters in the Koran are not arranged chronologically, according to the time of revelation. There is general agreement in most cases about which ones are from Medina and which are from the Mecca period, but there might be disagreement about some of the details.
Replying to "23. And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Qur'an) to Our servant (Muhammad ), then produce a Surah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful).
24. But if you do it not, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.)
